As we age, muscles relax and lose strength. This loss of muscle tone allows fat or skin cells to get under the surface of the skin and form cellulite. The result: wrinkles around your mouth, neck, eyes and face, making them look older than they really are. While there is no way to totally prevent these deep lines from forming as you age, BOTOX® Cosmetic (also known as Botulinum Toxin Type A) has proven effective in reducing the appearance of fine vertical lines.
Wrinkles can make you feel older, not only because they give away your natural beauty but also cause the skin to sag. Our goal is to smooth out all signs of aging in order to restore your confidence. We use the best BOTOX® Cosmetic product available today to ensure that you receive safe and clear-looking results.
At FacePlus Aesthetics, we offer Botox injection services for many types of wrinkles associated with ageing such as smile lines, frown lines, crow’s feet, forehead furrows and others. The process is safe, quick and consistent treatments that provide a natural appearance with no downtime!
BOTOX® treats moderate-to-severe frown lines and crow’s feet by injecting small amounts of the toxin into specific facial muscles. When injected directly into these muscles, the toxin interrupts the nerve supply causing these muscles to contract less often, thus preventing the development of new lines over time.
In addition to its effectiveness and safety, the benefit of using BOTOX® Cosmetic over other treatments such as dermal fillers is that it can be performed without an incision, so there is virtually no healing time and no downtime. Also, unlike other treatments, BOTOX™ does not cause any pain during the procedure and eliminates the risk of infection or scarring.
The benefits of anti-wrinkle treatment include:
We will perform the procedure with local anesthesia, using a small needle injection technique. During the procedure, we will apply the medication directly into specific areas on the face where we believe it will be most visible. With every visit, our goal is to make sure that wrinkles appear smoother and less noticeable.
During your consultation, we will discuss your concerns about the appearance of your wrinkles. You will learn what to expect from this treatment and how to prepare yourself for the experience.
After the initial consultation, you may choose to schedule a second appointment at which point we will administer the treatment. At the end of each session, he will evaluate your progress and answer any questions you might have.
Each patient is different. Some may need fewer injections while others may need more. After the initial series of three injections, we generally recommend a treatment plan based on our clinical findings and evaluation at follow-up visits. At the follow-up visit, we recommend that patients receive as few as two injections per year depending on their needs. We then assess the effectiveness of each injection series and determine if further injections are needed. It typically takes approximately 6 weeks for maximum effects to be achieved.
Frown lines between the eyebrows may be caused by repetitive muscle movement. As you frown or squint over time, these muscles begin to show through your skin as permanent lines. BOTOX works by temporarily blocking the nerve impulses to these muscles. This helps prevent them from contracting and relaxing as frequently, ultimately reducing visible signs of ageing. BOTOX may be used to treat:
Clients who seek cosmetic treatment to reduce the appearance of deep smile lines, forehead lines, crow’s feet around their eyes, and/or horizontal bands beneath the eye creases may benefit from BOTOX® injections. BOTOX® can also help reduce symptoms associated with chronic rhinitis (which includes nasal obstruction), sinus problems or other conditions that cause facial tension.
We will examine your face and evaluate your individual needs before recommending the best course of treatment. We will consider factors including such as your lifestyle habits, medical history and degree of discomfort, among others. Your skin tone and texture must be healthy enough to withstand the effects of this nonsurgical procedure.
We know how important this decision is, so we strive to find a way to keep costs affordable. That’s why your price includes everything – needles, syringes, vials, anesthesia, training and administration fees. Nurse MB will personally administer the Botox injections and is, therefore, able to customize the cost to meet your specific needs. In general, we charge $8-$9 per unit.

You can be a good candidate for BOTOX® if you are:
• Have moderate or severe frown lines between your eyebrows
• Have a frown line where your nose meets your upper lip (nasojugal fold)
• Have excess wrinkling in one corner of your mouth due to an unbalanced muscle
• Have frown lines on either side of your nose
• Have deep creases surrounding your lips or chin when talking
BOTOX lasts for 3 – 4months after injection although many patients report longer lasting results. After two years, the effect begins to decrease and additional injectable treatment may be needed as wrinkles begin to reappear. Fortunately, these treatments are easy and painless.
BOTOX® should not be used if you do not know its benefits, risks, or need. It is important to let your doctor determine whether this procedure is right for you based on your individual needs. Some common reasons why patients should not use BOTOX include:
• You are pregnant or plan to become pregnant
• You are nursing
• You have a serious medical condition, including those associated with heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, uncontrolled diabetes, asthma, seizure disorder, thyroid disorders, liver problems, kidney/bladder problems and any type of depression or anxiety disorder.
BOTOX ® Cosmetic is a safe and effective treatment for facial wrinkles, crow’s feet and fine lines. It is also used to temporarily reduce the size of forehead wrinkles. However, not all cosmetic procedures are created equal! The following questions address some common misconceptions surrounding BOTOX®.
Side effects are rare and mild. They include temporary redness at the site of injection and swelling, bruising and tenderness around the treated area for several days following each treatment. These side effects usually resolve within 1 week. Some patients experience minor burning during the first 1–2 weeks of treatment, but almost all patients quickly become comfortable with the sensation.
It should come as no surprise that some people experience changes in taste, sweating or voice quality following treatment. In addition to possible side effects, if you smoke or consume caffeine prior to administering BOTOX® injections, you will want to avoid doing so.
Typically the entire treatment lasts about 20 minutes; however, some patients may require multiple treatments for better results. If more than 1 area needs treatment, it will likely last longer.
Yes. Studies show that BOTOX® continues to improve over time. Over 90% of patients report improvement after 3 months and continue to experience noticeable improvements up to 18 months postinjection.
There are indeed alternatives to BOTOX®. However, none offer quite the same immediate, long-lasting benefits. One alternative is dermal fillers. Dermal fillers work by simply filling in wrinkles with an inert substance like silicon gel or hyaluronic acid to help create volume. While some formulations last longer than others, they cannot produce the dramatic results seen with BOTOX®.
Another common filler option is collagen. Collagen implants provide similar benefits but take much longer to see results than when using BOTOX®. Still another alternative is chemical peels. While peeling off the outer layers of the skin can tighten the underlying layer, the procedure itself causes significant downtime and requires multiple sessions.
Lastly there are surgical options. Botox can be performed alone or combined with facelifts, eyelid lifts, jawline sculpting and other procedures. Depending upon your goals, one approach might be more appropriate than others.
