What is Xeomin Injections?

Xeomin Cosmetic is an injection product made from purified Botox® that has been approved for use on the face. Xeomin Cosmetic improves the appearance of fine horizontal lines between your eyebrows called “frown lines” while also improving the appearance of deep vertical furrows at the corners of your mouth known as “marionette lines”.

Is Xeomin safe?

The use of Xeomin Cosmetic is a simple procedure. The FDA requires that each patient be evaluated prior to treatment during which time they are given a full explanation of what will occur during the course of their treatment. Once you have decided to proceed with treatment, we ask that all patients complete our consent form. Upon signing this form, any questions or concerns you may have about the procedure should be discussed with us.

Side effects include minor redness, bruising, tenderness, itching, sensitivity to light, headache, mild muscle twitching, neck stiffness, tiredness and difficulty swallowing. Some people may feel a slight burning sensation or tingle immediately after the treatment but these symptoms tend to subside once the Xeomin Cosmetic has set. If you experience any adverse events such as those described above, inform us right away so we can assist you.

Who Is a Good Candidate?

Xeomin is good for anyone who has any subtle signs of ageing around the eyes or forehead. Before making up your mind, we recommend scheduling a consultation with our compassionate nurse so that you can discuss your concerns and goals. During the consultation, we will ask about any previous treatments you’ve tried and whether you had any adverse reactions.

What Can I Expect?

While many have been skeptical about the possible side effects of cosmetic procedures, the truth is that they are few and far between and can include headache, dry eyes, neck pain, fatigue, swelling, bruising, pain, or redness at the injection site. The entire treatment should be completed in less than 30 minutes. It takes a few days for the results to take effect; then, you’ll start to notice the lines fading gradually as the muscles relax. The results last for an average of three to four months. After that time, it is generally safe to repeat the procedure.
